Do I need to volunteer?

Yes! We require hundreds of volunteers to make each season possible. This averages out to at least one parent volunteer for each family registered. You must volunteer for one of the below positions at registration. Our goal is to make these positions as effortless as possible through automation, organization skills, and an abundance of volunteers. Volunteer PositionDescription
League Manager CommitteeThe League Manager Committee shares all the responsibilities of running the season from an administrative standpoint. The DQCA Board will help organize the committee and their roles. The biggest time commitment will be prior to the season in March and April, with the balance of the season out to June being maintenance.
CoachWe require dedicated parents with some time and a lot of patience! More important than soccer knowledge and skill is an ability and willingness to organize and lead children.  A coaching manual that includes easy warm-up activities and games will be provided. The duties of a coach include collecting and maintaining an equipment bag as well as communicating with the team parent and other coaches during the season when there are weather cancellations. You may volunteer to coach with a specific Assistant Coach.
Assistant CoachAssist the coach in their duties; help keep the players organized on the sidelines when they are not on the field. You may volunteer to assistant coach with a specific coach/assistant coach.
Team ParentAssist with communication and coordination between the League Manager(s) and the team. Develop parent snack schedule. Helps organize make-up games if required.
Equipment Helper The equipment needs to be sorted out each year into the coaching bags along with shirts, pylons, etc. before it is handed out to the coaches. Equipment sorters help with this task on (Early April date to be confirmed). There is both a morning and an afternoon shift.
Photo Day HelperThis position assists with picture day on (Late April date to be confirmed) to ensure that it runs smoothly and efficiently. The Photo Day Helper will be responsible for ensuring each player is in line with their team, has a completed player information card, and directs players to the photographers. There are a few shifts during the day of that are 2-3 hours long.
