President (VACANT)
The President is an Executive Officer of the DQCA Board of Directors comprising of 5-15
Board Members.
Responsibilities:
• Chair all meetings or designate a chairperson.
• Prepare for and attend monthly board meetings, eight meetings per year.
• General supervision of the affairs of the Society.
• Execute all documents.
• Perform any other duties which the Board may assign.
• The minimum term of the President shall be two years.
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of the community.
• Commitment to organization’s mission and strategic directions.
• A commitment of time (2-6 hours per month).
• Openness to learning.
• Must be a member in good standing with the DQCA.
Vice-President (VACANT)
The Vice President is an Executive Officer of the DQCA Board of Directors comprising of 5-
15 Board Members.
Responsibilities:
• Exercise all the duties of the President in the absence of the President or if the
President is unable for any reason to perform his duties.
• Prepare for and attend monthly board meetings, eight meetings per year
• Assists in the management of the affairs, property and assets of DQCA.
• Champion projects/issues as assigned by the Board.
• Any other duties which the Board may assign.
• The minimum term of the Vice President shall be two years.

• Knowledge of the community.
• Commitment to organization’s mission and strategic directions.
• A commitment of time (2-6 hours per month).
• Openness to learning.
• Must be a member in good standing with the DQCA.
Secretary
The Secretary is an Executive Officer of the DQCA Board of Directors comprising of 5-15
Board Members.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare for and attend monthly board meetings, eight meetings per year.
• Maintain the non-financial records and books of the Society, including the Minute
Book, Registry of Directors, Registry of Members, minutes of all Board meetings,
General Meetings and all resolutions passed at the above noted meetings.
• Prepare minutes for all Board Meetings and General Meetings.
• Give notice of all Board meetings and General Meetings.
• File the Society’s annual corporate return, Special Resolutions passed at a General
Meeting and any change in Directors or Officers, files Amendments to the Bylaws
and other incorporating documents, as required by the Act.
• Any other duties which the Board may, assign.
• The minimum term of the Secretary shall be two years.

• A commitment of time (2-6 hours per month).

• Must be a member in good standing with the DQCA.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is an Executive Officer of the DQCA Board of Directors comprising of 5-15
Board Members.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare for and attend monthly board meetings, eight meetings per year.
• Keep and maintain the financial records and books of DQCA.
• Prepare the annual budget.
• Assist the auditor in the preparation of the financial statements of DQCA.
• File all returns required (other than the annual corporate return filed
by the Secretary).
• Ensures all monies paid to the Society are deposited in a chartered bank,
treasury branch, or trust company chosen by the Board.
• Ensures a detailed account of revenues and expenditures is presented to
the Board, as requested.
• Ensures audited statement of the financial position of the Society is
prepared and presented to Members at the Annual General Meeting.
• Any other duties which the Board may assign.
• The minimum term of the Treasurer shall be two years.
Qualifications:
• Senior level experience in accounting or finance.
• Knowledge of the community.
• Commitment to organization’s mission and strategic directions.
• A commitment of time (2-6 hours per month).
• Openness to learning.
• Must be a member in good standing with the DQCA.
Director (VACANT)
The Director serves as a member on the DQCA Board of Directors comprising of 5-15 Board
Members.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare for and attend monthly board meetings, eight meetings per year.
• Assist in the management of the affairs, property and assets of DQCA.
• Abide by DQCA By-Laws.
• Chair committees created by the Board.
• Any other duties which the Board may, assign.
• The minimum term of a Director shall be one year.

• Knowledge of the community.

• A commitment of time (2-6 hours per month).
• Openness to learning.
• Must be a member in good standing with the DQCA.
Social Media Engagement – Membership, Communication & Technology Committee Member
The DQCA use a variety of methods to communicate with our community members. An important aspect of this communication is through the use of Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor the association’s social media accounts
• Create content on a regular basis that deals with community events, important issues, and general topics that may be of interest to our community members.
• Provide appropriate responses and information to external posts.
• Work with committee members to develop a comprehensive social media strategy.
• Act as Webmaster for the DQCA website

Community Garden Committee Member
The Douglas Quarry Community Association (DQCA) maintains a thriving Community Garden that provides residents with a space to grow food, build community, and enjoy the outdoors. The Community Garden Committee Member plays a key role in ensuring the garden is well-maintained, accessible, and responsive to the needs of garden members.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee general maintenance of the community garden.
• Obtain quotes for repairs and coordinate necessary upgrades or improvements.
• Respond to inquiries from current and prospective garden members.
• Maintain records of garden plots and ensure plot assignments are up to date.
• Coordinate seasonal openings and closings of the garden.

Enhanced Landscape Program Committee Member
The Douglas Quarry Community Association (DQCA) participates in the City of Calgary’s Enhanced Landscaping Program (ELP) to ensure our neighbourhood’s public spaces are well-maintained, attractive, and welcoming. The Enhanced Landscaping Program Committee Member serves as the key liaison between the DQCA, the City of Calgary, and local contractors to help keep our community looking its best.
Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary point of contact with the City of Calgary regarding the Enhanced Landscaping Program.
• Coordinate seasonal maintenance activities such as lawn mowing and flower planting
• Monitor landscaping performance and follow up on service concerns or complaints from residents.
• Help plan and implement improvements to community green spaces.
• Work with other committee members to support beautification efforts across Douglasdale, Douglas Glen, and Quarry Park.

Timbits Soccer Committee Member
The Douglas Quarry Community Association (DQCA) is proud to offer the popular Timbits Soccer program for young children in our community. This fun, non-competitive program encourages physical activity, teamwork, and skill development in a supportive environment. The Timbits Soccer Coordinator oversees the smooth operation of the program from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the planning, registration, and scheduling of the Timbits Soccer season.
• Act as the main point of contact for parents, coaches, and volunteers.
• Work with the DQCA Board to promote the program and recruit volunteers as needed.
• Liaise with Tim Hortons and any other partners involved in the program.
