2018 Season

The goal of this soccer program is to provide a recreational, fun, non-competitive outdoor soccer league for children born between 2010 and 2015. Each year, we have over 400 children participate in our soccer program!

Participants

There are three levels within the league: U4 (born in 2014 & 2015), U6 (born in 2012 & 2013), and U8 (born in 2010 & 2011).

Skills Required

U4: The only expectation is that these children have fun, since they are under 4 years old. This may be their first exposure to any structure, and they may be apprehensive. They may learn how to play independently of parents, how to take turns on the field, and how to kick the ball – hopefully toward the net!

U6: This may still be the first year of play for many children, however slightly more structure and game rules will be introduced, compared to U4. The children should be able to focus a little more than the U4’s, however the main objective is to have fun.

U8:  Same as U6, with a little more emphasis on how to play as a team: passing the ball, intercepting the ball, etc. The biggest emphasis is on having fun.

Team Structure

Teams are structured by fair age and gender distribution, or as closely as possible. For example: a U4 team of 10 children would have 5 girls and 5 boys, with an equal gender distribution of children born in 2014 as well as 2015.

Volunteers

Our entire league is volunteer-run, so parents must sign up for a volunteer position. This could be division coordinator, coach, assistant coach, team parent, or equipment prep.

With over 200 positions to fill, each family enrolled in our program is expected to fill at least one position . Our program is completely run by volunteers, so please be ready to step up to fill a vacant position.

Please remember, this league is “fun-only”… a positive attitude and a love of play are more important than soccer skills. We are all doing this to provide our children with the opportunity to enjoy some fresh air and activity with other children in our community!
