Thinking About Gardening? Start Small at the DouglasQuarry Community Garden
Have you been curious about growing your own veggies or herbs but aren’t quite ready to commit to digging up your yard—or don’t have a yard to begin with? Whether you live in a condo, rent your home, or just want to try your hand at gardening without a major commitment, we’ve got the perfect solution for you.
The DouglasQuarry Community Garden is a welcoming green space tucked between the rink and the baseball diamond in Douglasdale, right across from Swifty’s. It features individual garden plots that members of the DouglasQuarry Community Association can lease for the growing season.
No green thumb? No problem!
You don’t need any experience to get started. The garden is full of friendly, seasoned growers who are always happy to share their tips and tricks. It’s a great place to learn the basics of gardening, connect with your neighbours, and enjoy the satisfaction of growing your own fresh, organic food.
If you’ve ever thought about starting a garden, there’s no better place to dig in than your local community garden.
