UPDATE: As of January 17, water restrictions have now been lifted.

The DouglasQuarry Community Association would like to share an important update regarding the recent water main break that occurred on 16 Avenue N.W., east of Sarcee Trail.

The City of Calgary continues to respond to this significant feedermain break, and while repair work is ongoing, water use across the city remains strained. Mandatory Stage 4 water restrictions are in effect, and all Calgarians are being asked to continue reducing indoor water use wherever possible to help maintain system stability.

What You Need to Know

Residents of Douglasdale, Douglas Glen, and Quarry Park are reminded that Stage 4 water restrictions are currently in effect. To ensure the water we have is conserved while repairs continue on the City’s feedermain, we are asking all residents to reduce water use.

Water Conservation Tips:

  • Take shorter showers and avoid baths.
  • Run dishwashers and washing machines only when full.
  • Turn off taps when brushing teeth or washing hands.
  • Collect cold water from taps while waiting for it to heat to use for plants or cleaning.
  • Fix any leaks in your home promptly.

Impact on Community Facilities:

  • Outdoor ice rinks: Cannot be flooded during Stage 4 restrictions.
