Do I need to volunteer?
Yes! We require over 200 volunteers to make each season possible. This averages out to at least one parent volunteer for each family registered. You must volunteer for one of the below positions at registration. Our goal is to make these positions as effortless as possible through automation, organization skills, and an abundance of volunteers. Feel free to contact us at timbits@dqca.ca for more information.
Volunteer Position | Description |
League Manager | The League Manager positions are 2 year positions. We need some individuals to assist/train this season, who will take over as one of the Managers for next season. The biggest time commitment will be in February, March, and April, with the balance of the season out to June being maintenance. |
Coach | We require dedicated parents with some time and a lot of patience! More important than soccer knowledge and skill is an ability and willingness to organize and lead children. A coaching manual that includes easy warm-up activities and games will be provided. The duties of a coach include collecting and maintaining an equipment bag as well as communicating with the team parent and other coaches during the season when there are weather cancellations. You may volunteer to coach with a specific Assistant Coach. |
Assistant Coach | Assist the coach in their duties; help keep the players organized on the sidelines when they are not on the field. You may volunteer to assistant coach with a specific coach/assistant coach. |
Team Parent | Assist with communication and coordination between the League Manager(s) and the team. Develop parent snack schedule. |
Equipment Helper – Pre-season | The equipment needs to be sorted out each year into the coaching bags along with shirts, pylons, etc. before it is handed out to the coaches. Equipment sorters help with this task on (date to be confirmed). There is both a morning and an afternoon shift. |
Photo Day Helper | This position assists with picture day on (date to be confirmed) to ensure that it runs smoothly and efficiently. The Photo Day Helper will be responsible for ensuring each player is in line with their team, has a completed player information card, and directs players to the photographers. |
Equipment Helper – Post-season | In this position you will help sort and inventory equipment. This task takes approximately 1.5 – 2 hours, and will happen after the last soccer game of the season (date to be confirmed). |
